Role Overview
We are seeking a talented Performance Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will play a key role in supporting our race engineers both at the workshop and race track. Your focus will be on delivering setup philosophies and performance improvements under the pressures of high-level motorsport competition.
Key Responsibilities
- Support race engineers in vehicle setup and performance optimisation at the workshop and race track
- Analyse telemetry and performance data to provide actionable insights
- Develop and validate chassis simulation and vehicle dynamics models
- Utilise simulation tools to validate and confirm potential performance gains from development initiatives
- Implement methodologies for KPI reporting and driver/car performance analysis
- Contribute to high-pressure decision-making during race events and test days
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, automotive, or related field)
- Motorsport experience in high-level racing series
- Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, chassis simulation, vehicle-tyre interaction, and performance analysis
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, Simulink and/or OpenModelica for developing simulation models
- Experience utilizing Microsoft 365/Office 365 features highly regarded, but not required
- Experience with simulation tools to evaluate and predict performance improvements
- Data analysis skills (experience with MoTeC preferred, but not essential)
- Ability to travel to all 14 rounds of the Supercars Championship and test days
