Communications Manager

The WA Sporting Car Club (WASCC) is the largest and oldest motorsport club in Australia. It is an incorporated association of some 1,200 members and conducts a comprehensive suite of motorsport events at its premier facility, MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway in Neerabup. WASCC also hosts a number of high-profile events including the Perth round of Supercars.

The role:

Assist in management of the external communication and content creation for both the WASCC and MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway for duration of the year, including capture of relevant collateral.

Manage website and social media CMS.

In collaboration with the General Manager, assist to develop advertising and event plans.

Writing Press Releases and arranging media calls when required.

Effectively market the existing facilities while seeking to promote and develop new growth opportunities.

Analyse customer insights, trends and best practices to build successful marketing strategies.

Work with new sponsors, naming rights partners, corporate hospitality clients, signage clients, digital advertising clients to maximise exposure.

Assist event coordinator with the planning and delivery of the Club's Awards Night & club events.

Work closely with the General Manager to develop overall business development.

This role will include the requirement to work some weekends during the year as required.

Other duties as required.

Experience

Bachelor's degree in business, or related field desirable, however experience is highly regarded.

Experience in social media, advertising, marketing, and dealing with media.

Experience in business and staff management.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers.

Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.

Competency in Microsoft applications including word, excel, and outlook.

Competency in all social media platforms.

Competency in CMS and or database systems.

Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
