Data / Performance Engineer – DJR

Dick Johnson Racing runs a two-car Ford Mustang program in the Supercars Championship from its base at Stapylton, Queensland. We are seeking a Data / Performance Engineer to join one of our car engineering groups.

The role
Working alongside the race engineer on a single car, you will:

• Own the car's data acquisition and telemetry set-up: logging configuration, sensor calibration and system checks in the workshop and at the track
• Analyse session data and provide timely feedback to the race engineer and driver on car balance, tyre behaviour and driver performance
• Support race strategy with fuel, tyre and lap-time modelling, and contribute to set-up and simulation work between events
• Maintain data channels, reports and analysis tools so the engineering group can compare events and seasons consistently
• Travel to all championship rounds and test days

About you

• Degree in mechanical, mechatronic, electrical or automotive engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Experience in a data or performance engineering role in a professional motorsport category
• Competent with MoTeC data systems (or similar) and analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python
• Sound understanding of vehicle dynamics and tyre behaviour
• Clear communicator who works well under race-weekend pressure
• Must have the right to work in Australia and be available to travel
