Brad Jones Racing is looking for a Composites Assistant to join our Albury workshop team.

You don't need motorsport or composites experience to apply. We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable, works at a good pace and is willing to learn.

Who we are

Brad Jones Racing (BJR) is a results driven business and is the only regionally-based team competing in the Repco Supercars Australia Championship and Dunlop Super2 Series.

BJR currently races three (3) Toyota Supra Supercars and two (2) ZB Commodores, all prepared and maintained by the BJR team.

 About the role

Working within our Composites Department, you'll assist with:

·         Preparing, sanding, filling and finishing race car panels and components

·         Fibreglass and carbon fibre work

·         Cleaning, repairing and preparing components

·         Bonding and assembling parts

·         General workshop and composites tasks as required

To excel in this role, you should possess the following attributes:

·         Basic preparation (sanding & filling) and painting skills

·         Basic mathematical skills

·         Highly developed level of attention to detail

·         Willingness to be a team player and contribute

·         An ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

·         Strong communication skills

·         An ability to use power tools

·         Reliable and strong work ethic

·         Ability to follow safe chemical handling practices

·         Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately

·         Strong time management skills

·         Ability to prioritise tasks effectively

·         Physically capable of manual handling (lifting, standing for extended periods)

·         Willingness to learn and develop with the composites trade

·         Skills and understanding of both fibreglass and carbon fibre materials

·         An understanding of bonding materials (or ability to learn)

Experience in composites, automotive, panel preparation, manufacturing, fabrication or another hands-on trade would be an advantage — but it isn't essential.

We value attitude, practical ability and work ethic just as much as what's on your résumé.

If you're practical, enjoy hands-on work and would like the opportunity to work behind the scenes in Australian motorsport, we'd like to hear from you.
