Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Go-Karts, Attractions & Venue Equipment

Turn your mechanical skills into something a little more exciting.

Game Over is one of Australia’s leading indoor entertainment groups, operating major family entertainment venues across South East Queensland.

We are looking for a practical, reliable and mechanically minded person to help maintain our go-karts, attractions, arcade equipment and venue facilities. The position will primarily support our Oxley and Helensvale venues, with occasional work at other Game Over locations and associated group businesses as required.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are exactly the same. You could be servicing an electric go-kart, diagnosing an equipment fault, installing a new attraction or carrying out general repairs around one of our venues.

What you’ll be doing

  • Inspecting, servicing and repairing electric go-karts and attraction equipment
  • Completing scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and equipment faults
  • Maintaining arcade machines and other venue equipment
  • Undertaking general building repairs and maintenance
  • Installing, testing and commissioning new parts and equipment
  • Keeping accurate maintenance and repair records
  • Identifying potential problems before they affect venue operations
  • Supporting other Game Over venues and group businesses when required

What we’re looking for

You don’t necessarily need experience with go-karts or entertainment equipment—we can teach you how our equipment works. What matters is that you have strong practical ability, a mechanical mindset and take pride in doing the job properly.

The right person will have:

  • Good mechanical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills
  • Experience servicing, repairing or maintaining machinery, vehicles or equipment
  • The ability to diagnose faults and find sensible solutions
  • Confidence using hand and power tools
  • The physical fitness to safely perform manual tasks
  • Good organisation and maintenance-recording habits
  • A reliable, self-motivated and proactive approach
  • A willingness to learn and take on different types of work
  • A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel between venues

Experience in automotive, mechanical, electrical, industrial, amusement, arcade or facilities maintenance would be highly regarded, but a formal trade qualification is not essential for an applicant with the right experience and ability.

Why join Game Over?

  • Work on equipment that is far more interesting than the average maintenance job
  • Enjoy genuine variety across go-karts, attractions, arcade equipment and venue facilities
  • Join a growing entertainment group with multiple venues
  • Receive training on our specialist equipment
  • Work independently while being part of a supportive operational team
  • Have the opportunity to make a visible difference to the safety and performance of our venues

If you are the kind of person who enjoys understanding how things work, fixing problems properly and taking ownership of your work, we would like to hear from you.

Apply now with your résumé and a short introduction outlining your mechanical or maintenance experience.
