About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll provide expert day-to-day service and support to the MotorSport New Zealand community. You'll process licence and technical applications, answer customer queries across phone, email and digital channels, provide practical technical guidance and become an expert user of our Sporty platform. You'll also play an important role in improving the customer experience. Because you're working directly with our community every day, you'll be well placed to spot recurring frustrations, system issues and processes that could be simpler. Most importantly you'll help us to continuously improve our service systems to eliminate sources of frustration and inefficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Processing competitor, official, volunteer and media licence applications.
  • Processing technical applications including logbooks, authority cards and safety structures.
  • Supporting customers by phone, email, website and app and helping them navigate MSNZ requirements.
  • Taking ownership of customer queries and seeing issues through to resolution.
  • Working with our medical team to progress medical applications.
  • Providing practical technical advice to help customers submit complete and compliant applications.
  • Becoming an expert user of Sporty and helping licence holders get the most out of our systems.
  • Proactively contacting licence holders to support licence renewals and event participation.
  • Identifying recurring customer frustrations, process gaps and system issues.
  • Working with the wider MSNZ team to improve processes, communications and customer education.

About you

  • Experience in customer service, application processing, membership, or a similar service environment.
  • Essential strong technical knowledge relevant to motorsport and the ability to provide credible and trusted guidance on technical applications and safety structures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to process information accurately.
  • Confidence working with customer service systems and helping other people navigate technology.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain requirements in clear, practical language.
  • A proactive approach to solving problems and following issues through.
  • The ability to identify recurring customer pain points and suggest practical improvements.
  • A collaborative approach and confidence working across different teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience working with clubs, volunteers, officials, competitors or community sport would be an advantage.

You may come from a hands-on automotive background, such as a qualified mechanic, automotive technician or service advisor, and be looking to bring your technical knowledge into a customer-focused role within motorsport.
