Motorsport Operations

MotorSport New Zealand is on an exciting journey of growth and improvement, and we're looking for an Operations Manager who loves making things work better.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the systems, processes and customer experiences that sit at the heart of our organisation. From driving smarter ways of working and leading technology improvements to enhancing how we support our clubs, licence holders and community, you'll play a key role in helping us build a modern, customer-focused organisation.

If you're someone who gets a buzz from solving problems, improving experiences and making a tangible difference, you'll love this role.

About the Role

Reporting to the CEO and sitting on our Leadership Team, you'll have the opportunity to influence how MotorSport New Zealand operates now and into the future.
You'll lead operational delivery across the organisation, oversee customer service, manage key technology suppliers and platforms, champion continuous improvement, and help us create better experiences for everyone who engages with our sport.
No two days will be the same. One day you might be improving a customer journey, the next leading a technology enhancement, reviewing operational insights, or working with stakeholders to streamline the way we deliver services.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading customer service and operational delivery across the organisation
  • Improving systems, processes and workflows to create better experiences
  • Managing key technology platforms and external suppliers
  • Driving practical digital and process improvement initiatives
  • Using data and insights to identify opportunities and support decision-making
  • Coaching and supporting a small team to deliver outstanding service
  • Helping build a culture that embraces innovation, improvement and customer focus

What We're Looking For

You'll be someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, finding smarter ways of working and turning ideas into action.
You'll bring:

  • Experience in operations, service delivery or process improvement roles
  • Confidence working with business systems, technology platforms and IT suppliers
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • A customer-centric mindset and passion for continuous improvement
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Energy, initiative and a willingness to challenge the status quo

Most importantly, you'll enjoy being part of a team that's focused on making things better and delivering real value for its community.

Why Join Us?

Because this is more than an operations role.

You'll join a small, ambitious team where your ideas matter, your contribution is visible, and your successes are noticed.
You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Influence how a national sporting organisation operates
  • Lead meaningful improvements to systems, technology and customer experience
  • Work directly with the CEO and Leadership Team
  • Enjoy variety, autonomy and genuine ownership
  • Help build, a modern, connected and future-focused organisation
  • Be part of a passionate team that genuinely cares about the sport and its community

Located in the heart of Cuba Mall, you'll work in one of Wellington's most vibrant precincts, surrounded by energy, creativity and great coffee.
