Supercharge Your Career in Motorsport!

12 Month Fixed-Term Contract | Cuba Mall, Wellington

Love motorsport? Want to help make it easier, safer, and fairer for everyone?

At MotorSport New Zealand, our Sporting Team sits at the heart of the sport. We work alongside clubs, organisers, officials, competitors, volunteers, and stakeholders across the country to make motorsport happen.

We're looking for a Sporting Advisor to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract and play a hands-on role in supporting and improving the delivery of motorsport throughout New Zealand.

This is not your typical administration role. One day you could be processing permits and approving events, the next helping improve regulations, delivering training to officials, supporting a club through an event challenge, or contributing ideas that make organising events simpler and more effective.

If you enjoy solving problems, working with people, and being close to the action, this could be your next great role.

About the Role

As Sporting Advisor, you'll be involved in a broad range of sporting operations that help keep our events running smoothly and our participants engaged.

You'll work closely with clubs, event organisers, volunteers, officials and the wider MotorSport NZ team to deliver practical support and continuous improvement across the sporting function.

Most importantly, you'll help ensure motorsport remains safe, fair, accessible and enjoyable for everyone involved.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Processing permit and event applications.
  • Supporting the approval and delivery of motorsport events nationwide.
  • Providing advice and support to clubs and event organisers.
  • Assisting with the development and improvement of sporting regulations and processes.
  • Helping deliver training, education and development programmes for officials and volunteers.
  • Supporting championship and sporting administration activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify processes and improve customer experience.
  • Working alongside stakeholders to solve problems and deliver practical outcomes.
  • Contributing to projects that strengthen the future of motorsport in New Zealand.

What We're Looking For

You don't need to know everything about motorsport on day one, but you'll bring:

  • Strong organisational and administration skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.
  • Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Sound judgement and attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding service.
  • Experience in sport administration, event management, volunteer management, regulatory training, environments, or a related field would be highly regarded.

An understanding of motorsport, community sport, or member-based organisations would be an advantage, but passion, attitude and a willingness to learn are just as important.

Why Join MotorSport NZ?

At MotorSport New Zealand, we exist to enable our community to see, experience and love motorsport.

This role offers a rare opportunity to influence how motorsport is delivered across the country and to support the clubs and volunteers who are the backbone of the sport.

You'll join a passionate, dedicated team and have the chance to:

  • Make a genuine difference to the future of motorsport.
  • Work across a wide variety of sporting and operational activities.
  • Build relationships throughout the New Zealand motorsport community.
  • Be involved in projects that improve safety, fairness and event delivery.
  • Develop valuable experience across governance, operations, events, training and sporting regulation.

Ready to Make Motorsport Better?

If you're motivated by purpose, enjoy variety, and want to help make organising motorsport events easier for everyone involved, we'd love to hear from you.

Join MotorSport New Zealand and help shape the future of the sport.
