The Quinn Group in New Zealand is a dynamic organisation dedicated to motorsport excellence, driver development, and tourism entertainment. It owns and operates three world-class motorsport venues: Highlands Motorsport Park in Central Otago, Hampton Downs Motorsport Park, and Taupo International Motorsport Park, which together host major racing events, club events, enthusiasts have a go days, experiences, and facilities. Complementing these are the Hampton Downs NZ Racing Academy, providing top-tier training for emerging drivers, and the Tony Quinn Foundation, established in 2021 to support talented young Kiwi racers in pursuing motorsport careers. The group also stewards the NZ premier Summer motorsport series - the Repco NextGen NZ Championship and the recently acquired the GTNZ Championship (national GT racing), alongside entertainment ventures Game Over in Queenstown, Auckland and Christchurch offering indoor karting, laser tag, arcades, and family fun.

This is a rare opportunity to join a forward-thinking group that blends all levels of motorsport with tourism and entertainment, delivering world-class experiences while prioritising the long-term growth and sustainability of the industry.

With strong leadership from CEO Josie Spillane and the backing of outstanding teams, the Quinn Group is committed to nurturing talent, elevating events, and ensuring New Zealand's motorsport scene thrives for future generations.

We are thrilled to have acquired the GT New Zealand Championship and are now seeking a passionate, capable Category Manager to play a central role in growing and delivering a world-class GT racing series in New Zealand.

This is not a full-time position, but the successful applicant must be available and on-site for all championship rounds in the upcoming season, outside of that you can be located pretty much anywhere!

  • 14–16 November
  • 8–10 January
  • 22–24 January
  • 29–31 January
  • TBC April Supercars Round.

An exciting opportunity is available to join the GT New Zealand Championship in a contract leadership role supporting championship logistics, stakeholder relationships and race operations across the South Island.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Genuinely passionate about motorsport, especially GT racing, with energy that inspires teams and competitors
  • Exceptionally organised and calm under the pressure of race weekends
  • A strong communicator who builds positive, effective relationships with teams, Motorsport New Zealand (MSNZ), officials, sponsors and stakeholders
  • Technically literate, with a solid understanding of motorsport technical regulations to support rule interpretation, compliance and article development

You will work closely with teams and MSNZ to create championship and technical articles, manage competitor proposals and entries, coordinate sponsor signage, all event infrastructure, conduct drivers’ briefings, liaise with timing providers, and deliver fast, accurate results, points calculations and grids via the Teams App.

If you’re able to have several things going on at once, customer focused, highly organised, a natural at stakeholder communication, and thrive on the adrenaline of motorsport weekends, this is your opportunity to play key role in GT racing and its future in New Zealand.  It’s not for the faint hearted or the thin skinned, you’ll be at the pointy end of the business at times and will need to keep a cool head and strong commitment to rules and relationships - making sure you don’t break either!
