About the Role

As the Rally Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and developing the Rally disciplines across Motorsport Australia. Reporting to the Motorsport Sporting Manager, you will be responsible for the effective administration, governance, development and continuous improvement of Rally competitions, regulations and stakeholder engagement. This role works closely with national and state-based committees, officials, competitors and industry stakeholders to ensure the safe, fair and successful delivery of Rally motorsport across Australia.

Experience in motorsport (specifically rallying), sporting organisations, volunteer environments or member-based organisations would be an advantage, along with an enthusiasm for helping rally grow.

We will offer you a supportive environment and great team culture. This role is based at our office in Canterbury, Melbourne, with flexibility to work some hours from home. The role may require occasional travel to events and requires some after-hours and weekend work.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy Implementation

• Manage and deliver any projects relating to innovation or development of the Rally landscape, including FIA projects (and assisting with selected working groups).

• Lead relations across all Rally Championships and Series, including being the main point of contact for Sporting related issues.

• Ensure that the FIA regulations and safety guidelines as they relate to the Rally disciplines are implemented and where practical.

• Develop and manage the Rally discipline budget to support the sport’s long-term financial sustainability and growth.

Motorsport Administration

• Attend the Australian Rally Commission (ARCom), Tarmac Rally Working Group (TRWG) and Rally Technical Working Group (RTWG) meetings.

• Ensure that ARCom, the TRWG and the RTWG are working within their Terms of Reference. • Oversee the Administration of the Rally disciplines with support from the Motorsport Sporting Manager.

• Review all national level supplementary regulations as submitted to the permit team and assist with other regulations as required.

• Oversee and administer the Motorsport Australia Regulations as they relate to the Rally.

• Implement a strategic approach to align all state panels rules and regulations with support from the Motorsport Sporting Manager.

• Assist in creation of Motorsport Australia Board, ARCom and RTWG papers and other submissions as required.

• Work with the State based Rally Panels and their Chairs to ensure cooperation and growth across the States, ARCom, RTWG and MSA with respect to the Rally discipline.

Performance Indicators

• Growth in the Rally discipline income and participation over time.

Special Considerations
• Involves some after-hours support.
• Requires occasional attendance at events which - may occur after hours or at weekends.
• Current driver licence required.
• Some interstate travel required.

• Previous experience in a similar strategic role
• Proven ability delivering projects of similar nature
• Proven ability to manage agreements effectively
• Good people management skills
• High attention to detail
• High level interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience managing a diverse range of stakeholders
• Excellent organisation and planning skills in managing a busy workload with conflicting demands
• Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and maintaining a supportive work environment
• Positive, hard-working with a can-do attitude
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs
• Experience in motorsport, ideally Rally, as a Driver, Co-Driver, Navigator or Official highly desirable
• Experience working with volunteers, member-based organisations or in sport an advantage
