Motorsport Distributors Group (MDG) is Australia's leading motorsport merchandise distribution and retail business.
Established in 2003, MDG imports and distributes official Formula 1, MotoGP and motorsport merchandise while designing, manufacturing and delivering apparel and merchandise programs for some of Australia's biggest racing teams, brands and events.
Beyond wholesale distribution, we operate retail stores and activation sites at more than 20 major motorsport events annually throughout Australia and internationally, including Formula 1, MotoGP and Supercars. Our customers range from motorsport fans to wholesale partners including dealerships, specialty retailers and corporate clients.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to take ownership of our warehouse operations and inventory management. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with a strong background in apparel, uniforms, fashion, promotional products or retail distribution, where managing large SKU ranges across multiple sizes, colours and styles is second nature.
Based at our Thomastown headquarters, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our warehouse operates efficiently while supporting ecommerce, wholesale customers and major motorsport events throughout the year.
About the Role
Reporting to senior management, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse while leading inventory control, warehouse processes and a small warehouse team.
This role combines operational leadership with hands-on warehouse management and offers the opportunity to travel to major motorsport events throughout Australia and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Manage the daily operation of the warehouse, ensuring efficiency, organisation and safety.
- Lead and support the warehouse team while promoting a positive and productive culture.
- Oversee all inbound and outbound freight.
- Receive, inspect and accurately receipt incoming apparel, headwear and merchandise.
- Allocate warehouse locations and ensure stock is stored efficiently.
- Maintain warehouse presentation, cleanliness and organisation.
- Coordinate courier collections, freight dispatch and supplier deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Inventory & Apparel Management
- Manage inventory across thousands of apparel, headwear and merchandise SKUs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and annual stocktakes.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of picking locations.
- Manage products across multiple sizes, colours and styles with a strong focus on inventory accuracy.
- Work closely with Purchasing and Operations to maintain appropriate stock levels and support incoming container deliveries.
- Develop and improve inventory control processes and warehouse procedures.
Order Fulfilment
- Support ecommerce, wholesale and corporate order fulfilment.
- Ensure customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to meet customer delivery expectations.
- Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy to support online and wholesale sales.
About You
You are an experienced warehouse leader who enjoys taking ownership of warehouse operations and inventory accuracy.
Ideally, you'll come from an apparel, fashion, uniforms, sporting goods, promotional merchandise or retail distribution environment and understand the complexities of managing products across multiple sizes, colours and seasonal ranges.
You'll also possess:

Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse and logistics operations.
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role.
- Experience within apparel, fashion, uniforms, sporting goods or retail distribution highly regarded.
- Strong inventory control and receipting experience.
- Experience managing high-volume SKU environments.
- Experience using warehouse management or ERP systems.
- Sound understanding of OH&S requirements.
- Current Forklift Licence (essential).
- Truck Licence (advantageous).
- Competent using Microsoft Office applications.
