Sheet Metal Fabricator

We are seeking an elite Qualified Sheet Metal Fabricator to join Red Bull Ampol Racing, operated by Triple Eight Race Engineering—the benchmark team in Supercars—on a full-time basis.

This is not a standard fabrication role. This is an opportunity to operate at the absolute highest level of Australian motorsport, where precision, speed, and performance define everything we do.

You will be working in the workshop, manufacturing and refining components for championship-winning race cars in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Every detail matters. Every millimetre counts. While a large amount of the work you will be tasked with is focused on motorsport and race cars, it will not be limited to this solely.

The successful applicant must be:

• Proficient in TIG and MIG welding of Steel and TIG welding of Aluminum
• Able to read and understand Engineering Drawings
• Able to produce a high standard of work
• Able to work unsupervised
• A highly motivated team player
• Willing to learning new skills
• Willing to work overtime
• Have valid working rights in Australia

Typical duties will include the manufacture of all Supercar parts including:

• Chassis fabrication (Chromoly tube and sheet metal)
• Aluminum tanks (oil, water etc.)
• Suspension components (wishbones, uprights etc.)
• Pit equipment

We are looking for someone who:

• Thrives under pressure and tight deadlines
• Hold trade qualification and 3-5 years post trade experience
• Has exceptional attention to detail and pride in their workmanship
• Is highly skilled in sheet metal fabrication (including aluminium and precision TIG welding)
• Can work both independently and as part of an elite team
• Has a genuine passion for motorsport and high-performance engineering
